Zenian is
signing off.

To everyone who trusted us with their community — thank you. Really. Zenian ran in roughly 70 Discord servers, moderated your channels, verified your Roblox users, ran your applications, tracked your staff, kept your chats level and clean, and quietly held things together while you got on with the rest of your lives. That was never nothing to us. It still isn't.

We didn't want to write this letter. But it's the honest one, so we're writing it.

In April, our hosting was pulled out from under us. The provider we were on — a sponsor who committed to keeping the lights on for us — failed to deliver on what they'd agreed to. They lost access to our environment, they lost hold of our data, and eventually they came back asking for money to hand our own files back. It was more than we could afford, and it broke something in us.

For weeks after that we tried everything. We voted with the community, we sold personal belongings, we asked for help, we chased backups, we shopped for a new home for the bot. We got close — a few times close enough to taste it. But between the recovery costs, the ground-up rebuild we'd be looking at, and the reality that Zenian never really made money — every update, every server, every fix was coming out of our own pockets — we ran out of runway. All while the bot was serving roughly 70 communities depending on it.

And under all of that: we were tired. Two people cannot indefinitely run a 50-community bot on love alone. We tried. It cost us more than we can put in a paragraph.

So this is us stopping, for now. Not with a bang — with a bow. Zenian is being put to rest as an operating service. Support is closed. The bot will not come back online in its old form.

If we ever come back to Discord tooling — and we probably will, in some shape — we'll come back with better bones under it. Real hosting. Real backups. A model where we don't have to bleed out to keep the lights on.

To the friends who donated, who defended us, who stuck around while things were quiet, who wrote us kind messages we still read on hard days — you were the point. You were always the point. We'll see you around.
